Use case / Reservations

Have a table booked for you.

Plenty of good restaurants have no booking system, just a phone — engaged all evening and unattended all day. Your AI assistant makes the call.

How it works

  1. Give the place, time and party size. Number, date, time, how many of you. Add anything special, like a preference for indoors or a dietary requirement.
  2. The assistant calls. It asks for a table at your time and offers your fallback if nothing is free.
  3. Confirmation in your chat. You learn whether the table is booked, under which name and for what time.

The prompt for it

Copy it, fill in the square brackets, paste it into your AI chat. If wecallio is not connected yet, your assistant walks you through the setup first — it takes a minute or two.

Please call [restaurant] on [phone number] and book a table for [number] people on [date] at [time] under the name [your name]. If nothing is free, ask about half an hour earlier or later. Please mention that one person eats vegetarian.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI actually secure the booking?

The assistant places your reservation by phone, exactly as you would. Whether the restaurant accepts it is their call — and that answer is what your summary reports.

What if your time is fully booked?

Give it a fallback time and it asks straight away. Without one it brings the answer back and leaves the decision to you.

Can it pass on special requests?

Yes — a high chair, an allergy, a table inside rather than out. Put it in your instruction and the assistant mentions it on the call.

Will the restaurant know it is an AI?

Yes. The assistant introduces itself as an AI calling on behalf of a person at the start of every call. It never claims to be human — that is fixed in the system prompt and cannot be switched off.
