01 / Setup

Have ChatGPT make your calls.

ChatGPT connects wecallio as a custom MCP server through developer mode. Set it up once and the connection stays.

ChatGPT uses developer mode for this. You enable it once in the ChatGPT settings and then add wecallio as a custom MCP server.

Setup happens in ChatGPT in a browser.

  1. Enable developer mode. Open the settings in ChatGPT, choose “Security and sign-in” and switch on “Developer mode”.
  2. Copy the name and the address. Both go into the dialog for the new MCP server.
    Name — your choice
    wecallio
    MCP server address

  3. Add the MCP server. Open the plugin page in ChatGPT, choose the plus and enter the name and the server address.
  4. Confirm access. Sign in to wecallio in the window that opens, or create an account. Then confirm the connection.
  5. Get going. Open a new chat and write, for example: “Check my phone assistant and offer me a test call.”
Where do these steps come from?

They follow OpenAI's current official procedure for custom remote MCP servers in ChatGPT developer mode.

Clear on the phone: the assistant always introduces itself as an AI calling on your behalf. Emergency, government and premium-rate numbers stay blocked. The first demo call is free. See the plans.
